Last night I decided to take my new friend (who is still nameless) out for a little test drive. the night started at the Phoenix Art museum, they were hosting a free evening with live music and drinks. this part of the evening was not that exciting but the music was good and the company was better. After the art museum a few friends and I headed down the first friday lane. The recent change in setup for First Friday left me feeling a little sad. It seems this is just a social gathering now and not about art anymore. After 30 min of trying to fight the crowds like a salmon swimming up-stream we decided to try to find a bar that we could go have a drink and chat among our selves. The Roosevelt is where we ended up. The Roosevelt is mostly lit only by candles and extremely dim lighting ,which makes for a quaint atmosphere. this though is where the real test drive of my camera began. I was completely amazed at the quality of images I took from such a low light enviroment with no flash. the new sensors and light monitoring features completely took my breath away, although I might have had a few too many adult beverages. I now have a few images here for your perusal and you can decide if the camera is really that awesome or was I just a bit drunk.

Glad I could help with one of your fav photos of the night. Mwah!
Sounds like a great camera, and I love the blog.
It looks like the camera is that good. The last photo with the flower wreath is magazine worthy, definitely.

I really like the still photo with the wreath the best. Its beautiful against the masculine wall giving some contrast. Your new camera gives nice crisp shots. Welcome to blogging with the rest of us.
